Don has over 35 years’ business and industrial experience, including roles in process operations (Shell), process design and project management (British Nuclear Fuels), safety engineering (Total E&P), insurance (CIGNA International), HSSE (e.g. Amersham plc) and safety and sustainability consulting (ERM). He joined JMJ as sustainability advisor to further develop and support the delivery of our sustainability offering.

Prior to joining JMJ, Don was a managing partner and member of the senior leadership team at ERM where he was global sector leader for oil & gas, then global practice leader for safety & risk. Previously he held group HSE leader roles in three FTSE 50 multinational companies including group SVP for HSSE & asset integrity at BG Group. In addition, he is a former business school dean and professor of risk management at Brunel University and vice chair of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA).

Don is currently chairman of LondonEnergy Ltd and is EnQuest professor of sustainability at the University of Bradford School of Management. He is a chartered chemical engineer and holds a PhD in risk management from the University of Manchester and a master’s in sustainability leadership from the University of Cambridge.
