JMJ is a supporter of Construction Inclusion Week 2023: Building a more inclusive construction Industry culture
Construction Inclusion Week is a week dedicated to raising awareness of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in the construction industry, essential for creating a workplace where everyone feels valued and respected.
JMJ is proud to support Construction Inclusion Week (CIW) 2023. The event, which brings together the construction industry to promote and celebrate diversity, equality and inclusion (DEI), is taking place between October 16-20.
Now in its third year, Construction Inclusion Week (CIW) is an annual industry-wide awareness initiative modelled on the success of Construction Industry Safety Week. Its purpose is to identify ways to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) within the construction industry. This year 5,000 construction firms have registered with an anticipated reach of 750,000 industry workers, including subcontractors, craft workers, and construction management professionals.
The consortium recognizes that to attract, retain, and develop the best talent for the construction industry and maximize the diversity of suppliers, the culture must evolve to be truly inclusive.
The intention of CIW is to initiate conversations that create alignment and identify ways to address the challenges, leading to a more inclusive construction industry for everyone.
The event will focus on different areas each day:
Monday Oct 16: Commitments and Accountability
Tuesday Oct 17: Cultivating Belonging
Wednesday Oct 18: Intentional Supplier Diversity
Thursday Oct 19: Workplace Culture
Friday Oct 20: Community Engagement
