The American Trucking Associations (ATA) is the largest and most comprehensive national trade association for the trucking industry in the USA. Rick Cates, Senior Consultant at JMJ has been involved in the ATA’s Safety Management Council for many years. He is also on the executive committee which oversees the annual National Truck Driving Championship, a competition for professional truck drivers. Rick will be attending this years’ event, which is taking place in Indianapolis between 16-19 August.
The ATA’s National Truck Driving Championships (NTDC) is a competition for professional truck drivers to inspire truck safety. Around 450 drivers will compete to demonstrate their driving and inspection skills, knowledge, and professionalism through a series of tests. To take part, competitors must be accident-free for at least one year prior to the event. Many of them have millions of accident-free driving miles to their credit.
